About Tyngsboro, MA
Tyngsboro is a bedroom community just north of Lowell and not too far from Boston. Unique to Tyngsboro, the arched, green iron bridge over the Merrimack is unique to Tyngsboro. The bridge has become a symbol of the town, built in the 1930’s to replace a wooden planked structure, in addition to being a major river crossing of the Merrimack river.
The town has a Board of Selectmen overseeing the operation of the town, and ruled democratically by an Open Town Meeting form of government. The town administrator reports to the Board of Selectmen, who oversees the daily operation of the town. Other elected boards include the Library Trustees, School Committee, Conservation Commission, Cemetery Commission, Planning Board, Board of Health, Sewer Commission, and the Zoning Board of Appeals (taken from Wikipedia).
